If you've got any ideas or if there's anything you would like to see added to the website please get in contact Off or off??? Check out the local weather forecast, but until you hear differently, assume the match is still on Previous matches............ HOBs lost their last match of the season, going down by 14 runs v the Travellers. JS Smith top scored with 61 to claim another man of the match in what has been a terrific season for the all rounder! scorecard / match report / photos A Rearrange game saw HOBs take on Frenchay Fitters in near darkness at Frenchay hospital. Using a yellow ball (not sure if it was a cricket ball) Henleaze made 90 for 4 from their 16 overs, Davies top scoring with 34 not out before restricting Frenchay to 63 for 9. scorecard / match report / photos WH Thomas (56) hit his highest score of the season as the old boys set Laz XI 142 to win in 18 overs. Their reply started well but with each over the run rate increased & Laz eventually finished on 125 for 4 meaning HOBs won by 16 runs! scorecard / match report / photos A fantasic bowling & fielding display saw the Old Boys win by 22 runs v Venturers at the YMCA. After being bowled out for 98, Adams recorded his best bowling figures of the season claiming 4 for 20 from 3 overs! scorecard / match report / photos HOBs knocked off the 89 required to win v City Clarks within 15 overs mainly thanks to 49 from JS Smith. Needing just 1 to win & also just 1 to bring up his 50, JS Smith was trapped leg before. scorecard / match report / photos Craig Collins picked up the man of the match award with an unbeaten 27 & Jimmy Osmond recorded his highest score for HOBs - 17. Not sure about the rest of the game as we didn't copy over the scorebook, we did win again though! scorecard / match report / photos Another game, another facial injury to Filligham, this time it was his nose colliding with Sam Lambshead's elbow when both were going for the same catch (listen to the call next time Sam!) HOBs secured a 56 run win thanks to 37 from MD Serjeant and a man of the match bowling performance from D Hawksley with figures of 3 for 14. scorecard / match report / photos Set 92 to win on a Blaise Castle pudding of a pitch the Old Boys made hard work of it but finally crawed over the finishing line to win by 6 wickets & 8 balls to spare largely thanks to an unbeaten 45 from WH Thomas. scorecard / match report / photos Henleaze ran out victorious by 5 wickets against Bushwackers having chased down 112 on a small Rudgleigh pitch. The game ended in controversy however with a couple of disputed umpiring decisions which soured the game somewhat. scorecard / match report / photos A solid Bowling & fielding display kept Frampton down to 129 & it looked like this would be a comfortable victory for the old boys when Pandya-Smith hit his highest score of the season (65). But in true HOB fashion, 101 for 1 very quickly became 123 for 9 & again we needed Tony Barrett to hit the winnings runs! scorecard / match report / photos Man of the match P Trahar hit an unbeaten 13 to see the hobbers home with 2 balls to spare. He also picked up his first ever wicket earlier in the match as the old boys just about chased down 120 to win in a very hot and muggy Chipping Sodbury. scorecard / match report / photos Andrew Barry hit a classy 66 in an old boys total of 229 for 9 from 40 overs against Chepstow CC. Excellent opening bowling from Barrett (2/23) and 4 for 30 from Ed Davies restricted Chepstow to 182 for 8 from their 40 overs. scorecard / match report / photos An old boys top score of the season (83 not out) was recorded by EC Davies last night as HOBs set MOD 164 to win. Despite an early injury set back which saw the hobbers down to 10 men for the remainder of the game, the MOD could only muster 85 all out with captain Pandya-Smith recording his best ever bowling figures of 5 for 17. scorecard / match report / photos Tony Barrett hit a 4 with the last ball of the game to secure a 2 wicket win for Henleaze last night. JS Smith & S Adams took 3 wickets each as Pearce posted 136 for 8. Despite a couple of setbacks along the way, the old boys kept up with the rate mainly thanks to an unbeaten 50 from Andrew Barry. scorecard / match report / photos HOBs winning streak came to an end last night with a 4 wicket loss to the YMCA. After a rocky start the old boys showed some grit & set the YMCA 111 to win. A great fielding display resulted in the game going down to the last over, the opposition hit the winning runs with 2 balls to spare. scorecard / match report / photos TW Lambshead's good form with the bat continued last night as he registered his maiden half century for the club with an unbeaten 51. Set 118 to win, the Old Boys smashed their way to victory inside 14 overs to take revenge for their early season defeat against Fishponds. scorecard / match report / photos Phil Serjeant continued his superb start to the season with a brilliant 74 not out as the old boys set Renishaw a target of 185 to win. In a close finish the hobbers kept their nerve (only just) and made it two wins from 2 league games with a 10 run victory! scorecard / match report / photos Henleaze made it 4 wins on the spin with a comfortable 55 run victory over United Banks at the YMCA. Davies picked up the man of the match - returning to form to hit 43 with the bat & then taking 3 wickets in 4 balls. scorecard / match report / photos Jon Smith hit his first half century for 4 years with a score of 72 as Henleaze hammered 178 for 6 in last night's game v Stoke Druid. Jimmy Osmond was the pick of the bowlers taking 3 wickets for just 4 runs as the Druids finished on 143 for 7. scorecard / match report / photos HOBs started the defence of their title with a 37 run win over Hope Harriers. Blistering batting saw the old boys make 154 for 5 from 20 before bowling Harriers out for 117 to pick up maximum points. Man of the Match Andy Barry top scored with 36* and also claimed two late catches. scorecard / match report / photos Captain Pandya-Smith returned from his honeymoon to hit a quick fire 34 as Henleaze posted 125 for 6 from their 20 overs. Pick of the bowlers were Barrett (2 fer 7), Thomas (2 fer 4) and TW Lambshead (2 fer 20) as Gremlins crumbled to 74 all out. scorecard / match report / photos Despite a brilliant 53 not out from man of the match PR Serjeant HOBs fell 3 runs short of their target of 132 to win. Special mentions to D Hawsley who was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 2 wickets on debut & TW Lambshead who almost won it for the Old Boys, hitting 13 from the final over. scorecard / match report / photos After a two year absence, Tom Lambshead returned to the team & registered his highest score for the club (21) & along with Andrew Barry put on a fourth wicket partnership of almost 50. This was soon followed by a spectacular (but familiar) batting collapse leaving Henleaze 94 all out. Excellent bowling & tight fielding saw HOBs dig themselves out of another hole which meant the season started with a narrow 2 run victory! scorecard / match report / photos 2009 Results.........Played...23...Won...20...Lost...3...Tied...0 Scorecards, match reports and photos of our previous seasons can be viewed in the fixtures & results page Overall Results.........Played...94...Won...64...Lost...27...Tied...3 Spotted a mistake on this website, fancy giving us a game or just want to get in touch?
